Confederate Monument

“If we truly believe that all are created equal and all deserve the equal protection of the laws, and the Confederate monument is a reminder to some when their ancestors were not considered equal, but slaves and the monument’s presence gives the perception that we are not steadfast in our pursuit of equality. The Confederate monument should be removed from the Pasquotank County Courthouse. Lloyd Griffin wants to move the Confederate memorial due to safety concerns. I think he is missing the real issue.”
